The Verb TO PARTY

Don't Say: MAKE PARTY

A very typical mistake non-native English speakers make is to say "make party". That's not correct English, and it sounds funny to native speakers. Here are some phrases you can use instead.

TO PARTY
I am going to party tonight because it's my birthday.

TO GO OUT​
Are you going out tonight or staying in?

TO GO DANCING
I haven't gone dancing in a while, but I might this weekend.​

TO THROW A PARTY​
Since my parents are out of town, I'm going to throw a party.

TO ATTEND A PARTY
Did you attend Nick's birthday party, or were you not invited?
